After trying his hand at becoming a rapper, Ahmad finally achieved recognition when he starred in the reality televisions series “I Love New York”. He made it to the show’s ninth episode, finishing in third place. He was then given another chance in the follow-up series “I Love New York 2”, in which he became one of the 20 contestants on the show fighting for Tiffany Pollard. Givens was then invited to appear in the show “I Love Money” which featured contestants from various VH1 shows who failed to win their respective competitions. The contestants competed against one another in physical and mental tasks for a chance at the $250,000 grand prize. A spin-off series was then made called “Real Chance of Love” which featured various women competing for Real’s heart. The series went on for two seasons, but Givens didn’t end up with any of the series’ winners.
Aside from the various television series, Ben Stiller once offered Ahmad a part in a film which he declined, as the role required him to portray a gay guy.

For his personal life, Ahmad was known to be a very religious man. Despite his flamboyant personality and lifestyle on and off camera, he called himself a “God-fearing man”. He resided on a ranch in Orange County until his death. During 2013, Givens was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer and underwent surgery to treat it. Months after, the cancer returned and he had chemotherapy treatments, which unfortunately the cancer resisted. He passed away in February 2015 and is survived by his wife Raquel and his son.
