Anjelica Huston Biography, Wiki 2017

Anjelica Huston was born on the 8th July 1951, in Santa Monica California, and is an award-winning American film and television actress, director and former model. Her career in film started in 1969, when she was cast by her father in “A Walk with Love and Death”. Since then, she had more than sixty roles in film and television, many of which remain staples of popular culture, such as the role of Morticia Addams in “The Addams Family” (1991) and “Addams Family Values” (1993).

Have you ever wondered how rich Anjelica Huston is as of early 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Huston’s net worth is as high as $50 million, an amount earned through her successful career in acting, modeling, and directing.

Anjelica Huston Net Worth $50 Million

Anjelica Huston is the second child of John Huston, famous Hollywood director, and Enrica “Ricky” Soma, who was a prima ballerina. On her father’s side, Anjelica has English, Scottish, and Northern Irish ancestry, while on her mother’s side, she is of Italian ancestry. She was given her first name, Anjelica, in honor of her maternal grandmother. The Huston’s are an example of acting talent running deep in the family. They are also the first Hollywood family in which three consecutive generations received as Academy Award, starting with Anjelica’s grandfather, actor Walter Huston, followed by her father John, and finally Anjelica herself. However, she had little contact with her father growing up, as he was constantly travelling from one set to another. She spent most of her early years with her mother in Ireland and England, where she finished her primary and secondary education.

Anjelica tried her hand at acting in 1969, appearing in her father’s film “A Walk with Love and Death”, but then took a long break from the big screen, following her mother’s death that same year.

During this time, she mostly did modeling, and some theatre work. Her first major role came in 1981, when she played the lover of Jack Nicholson (her real-life boyfriend at the time) in “The Postman Always Rings Twice”, a remake of the 1964 original, and based on the novel of the same name. Her next big role – that of Maerose Prizzi in “Prizzi’s Honor” (1985) – represented a turning point in her career, earning her an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress and making Anjelika Huston a household name. This was followed by a long string of critically acclaimed roles, in movies such as Francis Ford Copola’s “Gardens of Stone” (1987) starring along with James Caan and James Earl Jones, Woody Allen’s “Crimes and Misdemeanors” (1989) with Martin Landau and Mia Farrow, and “The Grifters” (1990), for which she won several awards, and was once again nominated for the Academy Award. Her net worth was certainly rising.

During her career, she has worked with many renowned actors and directors, starting with her father. She appeared in five of his movies: “Casino Royale” (1967), “A Walk with Love and Death” (1969), “Sinful Davey” (1969), “Prizzi’s Honor” (1985) and “The Dead” (1987), the last an adaptation of James Joyce’s classic short story, and the last movie John Huston directed before his death that same year. Anjelica also frequently collaborated with Wes Anderson, who is known for his quirky and colorful films. She has appeared in three of his movies so far, starring in “The Royal Tenenbaums” (2001) and “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” (2004), and having a minor role in “The Darjeeling Limited” (2007).

Huston herself decided to dive into directing waters in the mid-1990s, her directorial debut being “Bastard Out of Carolina” (1996). She also directed, produced, and starred in the 1999 film “Agnes Browne”, based on the book “The Mammy” by Brendan O’Carroll. Huston continues to act and direct, and her recent credits include critically acclaimed television series “Transparent” (2015-2016), and the horror film “The Watcher in the Woods”, set or release in 2017. Her contribution to the American cinema has been recognized by a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2010.

In her private life, Anjelica was married to the sculptor Robert Graham from 1992 to his death in 2008. She is known for her political activism, particularly on behalf of animals, for which she was proclaimed PETA’s Person of the Year 2012. She is a self-proclaimed avid reader, and cat lover, at one point having as many as eleven furry companions in her home. She currently resides in Pacific Palisades, California.

#Quote
1I think people become more watchable after 30, when they have something between their ears.
2[on working with her father John Huston on Prizzi's Honor (1985)] We had a great time on Prizzi's Honor. My father is extremely easy to work with. He chooses his actors, places his confidence in them and lets you get on with it. He is living proof that a director doesn't have to run all over the place.
3I think I'm basically a gypsy. You know, from modeling.
4It was difficult directing myself. For a woman it's extra-hard because you have to spend an hour and a half in hair and make-up and you're late to set up shots and you're changing clothes in the street and there's no time to recover.
5I've never been the kind of actress whose sole interest was sex appeal, so I think that earns you some longevity. And I like character parts. It's a lot more fun and you don't have to rely on being the taste of the moment. That level of fame is probably very difficult to deal with. People screaming your name in the streets, quite honestly, isn't an audience I'm desperate to capture. I'm lucky. The people who tell me they like my work tend to be the kind of people I might be friends with anyway. I have a really nice audience.
6There were times when I hated my nose. But you grow up and you start to recognize that maybe it wasn't a bad thing that you weren't born Barbie.
7I was never happily hedonistic. There's no hedonism without a downside.
8Of course, drugs were fun. And that's what's so stupid about anti-drug campaigns - they don't admit that.
9I can't help feeling the world is on this terrible roller coaster where nobody can get it up since the atom bomb.
10I like to dance. I probably would have been a dancer. I love music, it's good for the soul and dancing is good for people. I dance on my own, I go to classes, I have that sort of energy. I need to dance. People only need to dance to make them feel happy. What do I think of the Yankees? I'm sorry, I don't follow football.
11I have a very full life and I am very happy with where I am now. I don't want to change anything. I once wanted to have children and it was not my choice not to have children but it hasn't broken my heart that I haven't. I think unless you're truly, wholeheartedly prepared to make a full-time commitment, you have to really think about it. I certainly wouldn't adopt children just because everybody in show business seems to be doing it.
12Age is not enviable in America. It's not applauded all that strongly. You have to take it all with a grain of salt.
13There were many times when my father [John Huston] and I didn't agree, but we always became close again because I tended not to stand up to him for long. I seem to have been drawn to dominating men, like my father and Jack [Jack Nicholson].

Looks like we don't have Anjelica Huston trademarks information. Sorry!
