He is mostly known as an American professional basketball player, which has probably had the biggest impact on his total net worth. In his 13-year career he played for several NBA teams, as well as some European teams.

So, just how rich was Anthony Mason? Well, as of early 2016, the American’s net worth is estimated to be over $17 million by sources, the larger part of his wealth having come from his contracts with NBA teams. His grand basketball career aside, he appeared in several films, TV series and music videos, which furthermore had a big impact on his wealth. His assets make him one of the richest sportsmen in the industry. Mason has also signed profitable endorsement deals with some large companies, who have been attracted by his basketball skills and screen appearances.

Anthony Mason Net Worth $17 Million

Anthony was born in Miami, where he spent most of his childhood. He played college football for the Tennessee State University from 1984 to 1988. Same year, the Portland Trail Blazers drafted him in the third round as the team’s 53rd overall pick, but he made his debut for a professional team in Europe, where he played for Efes Pilsen for one year. His career lasted for 13 years during which he played for several NBA teams. He is probably mostly known as the New York Nicks player. He had an average of 10.8 points and 8.3 rebounds and was even given the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award in 1995. In 2001, he took part in NBA All-Star game. He finished his career with 9,656 points, 7,279 rebounds and 2,963 assists. He apparently earned more than $40 million during his career, but owed more than $1.8 million in state and federal taxes, which he had a problem with, according to a report from 2009. Having this in mind, Mason became a life insurance marketing specialist because he wanted to help others not to make the same mistake as he did. He was in the section that provided protection to numerous high-level amateur prospects, caring for their future earnings as a professional. His trademark was to cut words and designs into his hair. In early 2015, Mason suffered from a massive heart attack. He died several weeks later surrounded by his four children and his mother. New York City Council approved the city’s street to be renamed after the Knicks’ grand player.

Not much is known concerning his personal life, because he was a very private person who hardly ever talked about his personal life in his interviews to media. Aside from basketball he was also a huge baseball fan. He had four children. His two sons are both basketball players, like their father. Anthony Mason Jr. plays for the Miami Heat. Another son, Antoine, is an American basketball player who plays for Apollon Limassol.

Born Dahntay Lavall Jones on the 27th December 1980 in Trenton, New Jersey USA, he is a professional basketball player, who spent 13 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA), playing for several teams, earning himself journeyman status. He last played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, with which he won the NBA Championship in the 2015-2016 season.

Have you ever wondered how rich Dahntay Jones is, as of early 2018? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Jones’ net worth is as high as $10 million, an amount earned through his long and successful career, active since 2003.

Dahntay Jones Net Worth $10 Million

Growing up in Hamilton Square, Dahntay started playing basketball at an early age, and once it was time for high school, he attended Steinert High School for which he played basketball, and in his senior year had an average of 24 points nine rebounds per game, which earned him a McDonald’s All-America honorable mention.

Following his matriculation, Dahntay enrolled at Rutgers and continued his basketball career by playing for the Scarlet Kings. In his rookie season, Dahntay was chosen for the Big East All-Rookie team, then after completing another season successfully, he transferred to Duke University, to play for the Blue Devils. As a junior, Dahntay played in 35 games and averaged 11.2 points with 4.2 rebounds per game, which earned him ACC All-Defensive Team selection, then in his senior year his numbers improved dramatically as he had 17.7 points per game, along with 5.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals per, meeting the requirements for First-team All-ACC.

After successfully completing his studies, Dahntay declared for the 2003 NBA Draft and was chosen by the Boston Celtics as the 20th overall pick, however, his rights were traded to the Memphis Grizzlies for the rights to Kendrick Perkins and Marcus Banks, while the Celtics also sent rights to Troy Bell. He spent four seasons in Memphis, however, his game numbers weren’t anywhere near what was expected, and once his contract expired he was free to seek another club. He signed with the Celtics, but in less than a month, Dahntay was waived by one of the most successful franchises, so then joined the Sacramento Kings, but after only 25 games was again released. His next stop was the NBA D-League team Fort Wayne Mad Ants, which kick-started his career as he recorded some of his best performances playing for the club, including 18 points in 31 minutes in his debut.

Thanks to his successful plays in the NBA D-League, Jones was picked up by the Denver Nuggets, with which he reached the Conference Finals in 2009, but lost to the Los Angeles Lakers 4-2 in the series. However, his stay in the southern Rocky Mountains didn’t last long as he signed a four-year contract with the Indiana Pacers, which certainly increased his net worth, and where he remained for the next three years, before being traded to the Dallas Mavericks with Darren Collison for Ian Mahinmi. Unfortunately, he couldn’t break into the Mavericks’ first team, and was sent to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Anthony Morrow. In the next few years, Dahntay changed teams several times, including to the Chicago Bulls, Utah Jazz, Los Angeles Clippers and Brooklyn Nets, before joining the Cleveland Cavaliers in April 2016. He played in only one game in the regular season during the 2015-2016 season but helped his team win the NBA Championship by playing in 15 games in the play-offs. He appeared in one more game for the Cleveland in the following season, before being waived and re-sined twice, and helped the team in the finals series, when they lost to the Golden State Warriors, and he is currently without engagement.

When it comes to his personal life, Dahntay has been married to Valeisha Butterfield since 2011; the couple has one child together. His wife is the daughter of North Carolina Congressman G. K. Butterfield.

Published

on

Born Boris Babacar Diaw-Riffiod on the 16th April 1982, in Cormeilles-en-Parisis, Val-d’Oise, France, he is a professional basketball player, who spent 14 seasons playing in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for such teams as the Atlanta Hawks, Phoenix Suns, Charlotte Bobcats, San Antonio Spurs and Utah Jazz, before returning to French basketball and joining Levallois Metropolitans.

Have you ever wondered how rich Boris Diaw is, as of early 2018? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Diaw’s net worth is as high as $23 million, an amount earned through his successful career, active since the early 2000s.

Boris Diaw Net Worth $23 Million

Of Senegalese descent, from an early age Boris was influenced towards basketball, as his mother, Élisabeth Riffiod, was one of the best French basketball centers in her prime, and so Boris look up to her. In 2001 he joined Pau-Orthez for which he played the next three seasons, winning French League Rising Star honors in 2002, and French League Player’s MVP in 2003.

After that, he declared for the 2003 NBA Draft, and was chosen by the Atlanta Hawks as the 21st overall pick, signing his rookie contract with the Hawks on the 10th July 2003. Coming to the NBA as an experienced player didn’t help him much, as he only averaged 4.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in the two seasons he spent in Atlanta. Before the start of 2005-2006 season, Boris was sent to the Phoenix Suns alongside two first round picks, for Joe Johnson. Soon upon arrival, Boris became a star of the Suns team, as he was used as an all-around player, covering all positions from point guard to center. His ability to score, assist and defend earned him the nickname 3D, and his playing motto became drive, dish, defend. In his first season with the new team, Boris averaged 13.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.0 blocks per game, which earned him the NBA’s Most Improved Player award. He kept up the good form for the next couple of years, until the Suns traded him to the Charlotte Bobcats in the middle of the 2008-2009 season. In 59 games for the Bobcats in the remaining part of the season, Boris posted his career-high in points per game with 15.1, while he also had 5.9 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game. In 2011 the National Baseball Association faced a lockout and the league was shortened to 66 games, and before the 2011-2012 NBA start in December, Diaw played for JSA Bordeaux in LNB Prob B league. Once the season opened, Boris rejoined the Bobcats but in March 2012, he was waived by the club.

It wasn’t long that Bors was without engagement, as he was picked up by the San Antonio Spurs, though he only received a contract until the end of the season, however, he signed a new contract with the Spurs worth $9.2 million over two years, which significantly increased his net worth. Boris was the part of the team that won the 2013-2014 NBA Championship, defeating the Miami Heat 4-1 in the final series, and the following season Boris signed another contract with the Spurs, worth $22 million over three years, further increasing his net worth. In the next two years, Diaw’s form began to decline, until he was traded to the Utah Jazz before the start of 2016-2017 season. He played for the Jazz in 73 games and averaged 4.6 points per game, his career lowest. As a result, Boris was waived on the 13th July 2017.

Feeling that he could still play basketball at a high level, he joined the French team Levallois Metropolitans for the 2017-2018 season.

Aside from a successful club career, Boris has also played for his country; with France being one of the best European national teams in the past 20 years, Boris represented his country from 2003 until 2017 in FIBA World Championships, Olympics, and FIBA EuroBasket Championships, and so far has played in 1064 games. He has a gold medal from the 2013 EuroBasket held in Slovenia, and two bronze medals from EuroBasket, in 2005 and 2015, and a bronze medal from the 2014 World Cup.

When it comes to his personal life, Boris tends to keep hidden his most intimate details from the public eyes, therefore, no reliable information is made available about this basketball star.

He is a recognized philanthropist; back in 2015, he started the non-profit foundation, Babac’Ards, which focuses on providing sports activities to children and youths of Senegalese ancestry.
