Bonnie is the daughter of Glyndwr and his wife Elsie; she grew up with her three sisters and two brothers in a four-bed council house. She was quite religious in her early age and was a part of the church, where she occasionally sang the Anglican hymn “All Things Bright and Beautiful.
She left school and started working in a grocery shop to support her family, however, that all would soon change, when she competed in a local talent contest and finished second.
