Bonnie Tyler Net Worth $10 Million

Bonnie is the daughter of Glyndwr and his wife Elsie; she grew up with her three sisters and two brothers in a four-bed council house. She was quite religious in her early age and was a part of the church, where she occasionally sang the Anglican hymn “All Things Bright and Beautiful.

She left school and started working in a grocery shop to support her family, however, that all would soon change, when she competed in a local talent contest and finished second. Encouraged by results, she started pursuing a career as a singer, finding engagement as a backing singer for Bobby Wayne & the Dixies, and she then started her own band – Imagination, also changing her name to Sherene Davis to avoid confusion with singer Mary Hopkin.

Her life changed for good in 1975 when she was spotted by talent scout Roger Bell. On his invitation, Bonnie traveled to London to record a demo, and was signed to RCA Records, so her career was about to take-off, but first she changed her name again, and Bonnie Tyler was born.

Before her debut album came out, she released three singles, “My! My! Honeycomb”, “Lost In France” and “More Than a Lover”, with mixed reviews and one of them reaching top 10 on the charts, however, her album “The World Starts Tonight” (1977) wasn`t quite successful as she and other people who worked on the album had hoped for. Nevertheless, Bonnie continued with her career, and just a year later she released her second album “Natural Force”, which eventually achieved gold status in the USA, and reached No. 2 on the Swedish charts. Her net worth was well established.

Two albums that followed – in 1979 “Diamond Cut” and “Goodbye to the Island” (1981) – didn`t chart well, however in 1983 Bonnie struck the world with her rock album “Faster Than the Speed of Night”, which topped the charts in the UK and Norway, and reached No. 4 on the US Billboard 200 chart. The album also achieved platinum status in Canada, the USA and Australia, while in Britain earned silver certification, which increased her net worth by a large margin. Bonnie continued successfully through the 1980s and early 1990s, with albums “Secret Dreams and Forbidden Fire” (1986), “Hide Your Heart” (1988), “Bitterblue” (1991), which achieved quadruple platinum status in Norway, “Angel Heart” (1992), and “Silhouette in Red” (1993). From then her popularity began to decline, and although she released six more albums, including “All in One Voice” (1998), “Heart Strings” (2003), “Wings” (2005), and “Rock and Honey” (2013), none of them reached the success of her previous releases.

Thanks to her skills, Bonnie has received more than 20 prestigious awards, including the Best International Singer by Goldene Europa, BMI Award for her song “It`s a Heartache”, and she also received a Gold Badge from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors, among many other awards.

Regarding her personal life, Bonnie has been married to Robert Sullivan since 1973; the couple has no children, as she suffered a miscarriage when she was 39.

She is a well-known philanthropist; she has supported numerous charitable organizations and projects, including Children in Need, and has held and participated in numerous charity concerts throughout her career.
