Brandon later went to Garfield High School in Seattle, and was one of the most promising players in the country.

He attended the University of Washington from 2002 to 2006 but had a lot of problems before went to the college, as he had a learning disability and it took him four attempts to finally meet the NCAA’s requirements. Brandon played for the Washington Huskies under head coach Lorenzo Romar; he averaged 6.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, one assist, and 17.2 minutes per game in his junior year.
