Charlie Batch Net Worth, Biography, Wiki 2017-2016

Born Charlie D’Donte Batch on the 5th December 1974 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania USA, he is a retired American Football player, who spent 15 seasons in the National Football League (NFL) as a quarterback, playing for the Detroit Lions (1998–2001) and Pittsburgh Steelers (2002–2012)

Have you ever wondered how rich Charlie Batch is, as of early 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Batch’s net worth is as high as $2 million, an amount earned largely through his successful career as a professional football player. Also, Charlie began working as a pre-game studio analyst for the Steelers games, on The NFL Today and KDKA-TV, which has also improved his wealth.

Charlie’s parents are Nilesh Shah and Lynne Settles. He went to Steel Valley High School, and after matriculation enrolled at Eastern Michigan University, from which he received a degree in criminal justice. During his college career Charlie set almost every school football passing record under his name, and as a result he received several awards, including the First-team All-MAC in 1995.

His professional career started in 1998 when he was selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the NFL Draft. In his first season, Charlie started 12 games and had 2,178 passing yards, which was enough for 11 touchdowns, and a passing rating of 83.5. For the next season, Charlie had to import running to his game, due to the retirement of Barry Sanders. Unfortunately, he couldn’t catch the rhythm, but he managed to compensate for it with his passing skills, and eventually had 1,957 passing yards for 13 touchdowns. His third season was the best of his career, as he had 2,489 passing yards and again 13 touchdowns. He repeated the success in 2001, however, he was injured for several games and was replaced by Ty Detmer. His career then began to decline, and he was cut by the Lions for Joey Harrington, and so signed a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but eventually stayed with the Steelers until the end of his career in 2012. He renewed his contract several times, which only increased his net worth, however, he was used only as a backup and saw limited playing time. Nevertheless, he won two Super Bowl rings with the Steelers, in 2005 and 2008.

After retirement, Charlie started working as the Steelers pre-game studio analyst at KDKA-TV, next to Bob Pompeani and Edmund Nelson. Then in 2015 he was appointed as color commentator, also on KDKA-TV, and also assumed the position of the main studio analyst for the Steelers pre-game coverage on The NFL Today, which only increased his net worth.

Regarding his personal life, Charlie is married to Latasha, but there are no further details about the couple’s marriage.

Charlie is a well-known philanthropist; he started the Best of the Batch Foundation, through which he helps underprivileged children, and has also done a lot to improve local football fields and basketball courts for children. Thanks to his efforts he has received several awards, including the Jerome Bettis Award for Humanity and Community Service, then Schramm-McCracken Prize, among many others.
