Sellecca relocated to Pomona, New York at the age of 12 where she attended Pomona Junior High, and then Ramapo Junior High in Spring Valley, where she developed an interest in acting and other performing arts. She continued her education in Boston College but put her education on hold to concentrate on her acting career.

Sellecca dabbled in modelling before she made her acting debut in the 1978 movie, “The Bermuda Triangle”. Sellecca would later follow this up with a role in the TV movie, “Captain America II: Death Too Soon”. This would be followed up by her starring role in the CBS-comedy, “Flying High”, which although soon cancelled, would prove to be a valuable springboard for better things for Connie. She would later star as lawyer Pam Davidson in “The Greatest American Hero”, a role that she is still remembered fondly for by her fans. After this role, she would play the part of promotions manager Christine Francis in the TV drama, “Hotel”, from 1983-1988. Sellecca would remain active on TV and star in several television and DVD movies through the years. She recently appeared in the straight to DVD movie, The Wild Stallion. All of these appearances have added to her net worth.

Her most recent business venture is The Sellecca Solution, a collaboration with notable dermatologists like Dr. Patricia Wexler, which is her personalized line of skin care products, and its main market is Mediterranean women. The products can only be acquired through direct order. These ventures add to her net worth.

In her personal life, Sellecca was previously married to “Buck Rogers” star Gil Gerard from 1979-87, and they have a son. On April 4, 1992, she married John Tesh, and they have a daughter. Both Sellecca and Tesh are born-again Christians.
