David Falk was born in 1950 in Long Island, New York City, USA, and is a sports agent who works with professional basketball players in the National Basketball Association(NBA) league. Falk is regarded as one of the most influential agents in NBA history and the second most powerful figure in the league in the ‘90s after commissioner David Stern. His career started in 1975.

David Falk was the second of three children born into a middle-class Jewish family, and grew up in New York, where he went to the Douglas MacArthur High School. His mother was an avid New York Knicks fan, and she wanted David to become a basketball player, but he proved not to be talented enough. He studied at Syracuse University, from where he graduated with a degree in economics in 1972. Falk also earned a J.D. from the George Washington University Law School in 1975.

In 1974 David started his career as an unpaid intern with Donald Dell, a former pro tennis player, who worked as a representative of the tennis players. In 1975, Dell offered Falk a $13,000 full-time job, which Falk accepted and began working as an NBA agent. Falk signed John Lucas as the No.1 pick in the 1976 NBA Draft, and exploited good connections with North Carolina University to secure a million dollar shoe deal for James Worthy in 1982.

In 1984, Falk and Dell signed the No.3 NBA Draft pick, Michael Jordan, and soon after David secured a $500,000 deal between Nike and Jordan, and subsequently in 1997 Jordan signed a $30 million contract with Nike, thanks to the influence of David Falk. In 1992, though, David left ProServ and Donald Dell and established his own company called Falk Associates Management Enterprises (FAME), which became one of the most powerful businesses in the NBA; however, in 1998 David sold it to the entertainment group SFX for $100 million, but served as chairman of the SFX Sports Group from 1999 to 2001.

David Falk made millions thanks to his skills; some of the most notable players who were his clients are Kenny Anderson, Vin Baker, Charles Barkley, Mike Bibby, Shawn Bradley, Muggsy Bogues, Sam Cassell, Patrick Ewing, and Danny Ferry. He also represented Allen Iverson, Moses Malone, Stephon Marbury, Alonzo Mourning, Dikembe Mutombo, Glen Rice, Mitch Richmond, Jalen Rose, John Stockton, and Antoine Walker.
Falk has also produced several sports-related movies including “Space Jam” (1996) starring Michael Jordan, “Michael Jordan to the Max” (2000), and “The Youngest Guns” (2004). In February 2009, Falk released his first book entitled “The Bald Truth”.

Regarding his personal life, David Falk is married to Rhonda and has two daughters with her. David and Rhonda are living in Rockville, Maryland.

Falk is a well-known philanthropist and has donated plenty of money to various institutions, including $5 million to Syracuse University which established The David B. Falk Center for Sport Management in 2008.
