Desmond Harrington, born on the 19th October 1976, is an American actor who became famous for his roles in the movie “The Hole”, “Ghost Ship” and “Wrong Turn”. He also made waves on television when he became part of the series “Dexter” and “Gossip Girl”.

So how much is Harrington’s net worth? As of early 2017, based on authoritative sources it is reported to be $4 million, acquired from his years as an actor in both movies and television which began in the late 1990s.

Born in Savannah, Georgia, but raised in The Bronx, New York City, Harrington is the son of Michael Harrington and Mary Harrington. He studied at St. Margaret’s of Cortona and laterat Fordham Preparatory School. He then attended Manhattan College, but didn’t finish a degree.

After leaving college, Harrington took various jobs to survive, as a landscaper, a cold caller and even a labourer, but what changed his life was when he became a bartender, and one of his colleagues suggested that he try attending acting school, and so his love for acting was born.

Harrington made his debut when he became part of the movie “The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc”, a role which led him to meet people who opened more opportunities for him. During 2000 he made plenty of movies, like “Boiler Room”, “Drop Back Ten”, and “Massholes”, and has worked constantly since then; these movies kick-started his career and his net worth.

In 2001, Harrington made waves in Hollywood when he became part of the thriller movie “The Hole”. That same year he also starred in the movie “Riding in Cars with Boys” with Drew Barrymore and “My First Mister”, and also starred in more successful thriller films like “Ghost Ship” and “Wrong Turn”.

Other movies that Harrington was involved in during the 2000’s included “Love Object”, “Bottom’s Up”, “Fort Pit”, “Exit Speed”, and “TiMER”. All these movies also helped in his career and also his wealth.

After doing a string of movies, Harrington made his television debut in 2002 when he became part of Steven Spielberg’s “Taken”. He also became a household name when he joined the series “Dexter”, in which he played the character of Detective Joseph Quinn for six seasons; the series brought him several nominations for Screen Actors Guild Awards. Harrington also became known for his role in the series “Gossip Girl” from 2009-12, in which he played Jack Bass. Despite not being a series regular, his role in the show made a lasting impression with the fans.

Desmond has appeared in over 20 films on the big screen, and almost 20 series and specials on TV. Today, Harrington is still active in acting with appearances in “Those Who Kill”, “The Astronaut Wives Club” and “Limitless” as some of his most recent work.

In terms of his personal life, Harrington dated actress Amanda Seyfried but the relationship ended in 2013. He is currently single.
