Karim Kharbouch was born on 9 November 1984 in Rabat, Morocco, and is well known under the stage name of French Montana as he is a popular rapper in USA and now all over the world, having been active in the entertainment industry since 2002. In addition to being a singer, Cocaine City Records was founded by Montana as well, and currently he is the CEO of the company. In 2014, he was nominated as the best male singer by African Muzik Magazine Awards.

When 13 years old, the boy together with the whole family moved to the USA, where he was educated at Roosevelt and Lehman High Schools in The Bronx, New York City. However, his father returned to Morocco, and French needed to support his mother and two younger siblings. From 2002 until 2011, French together with Cokeboy Los was creating the DVD series entitled “Cocaine City”. As Montana wanted to attract the attention of a wider audience, he included meetings with both well-known and young artists, and this way the popularity of “Cocaine City” grew and French was able to increase his net worth. During the period of more than eight years, they released eight editions thus significantly increasing the overall amount of their net worth. In 2003, he was the victim of an armed attacker and was wounded in the head but survived.

As a rapper, French has released four singles, a studio album, five featured singles and thirty-two music videos, this way also adding much to his net worth. In his personal life, French Montana has been married once, to Deen Kharbouch and French  in 2007, and they have a son born in 2009, however, they divorced in 2014. Later, he had a stormy relationship with rapper Trina. It has been reported that currently Montana has also dated  Khloe Kardashian.
