He led the Tigers to their first Final Four appearance since 1986, averaging a league leading 18.6 points per game and a league best 9.7 rebounds per game.
Forgoing his senior season at LSU, Davis entered the 2007 NBA Draft, being selected as the 35th overall pick by the Seattle SuperSonics, but was traded to the Boston Celtics. Playing as a power point, and occasionally as a back-up center for the Celtics, Davis was in the team which won the 2008 NBA Finals in his rookie season. The following year he helped the team to defeat the Orlando Magic in the 2009 Eastern Conference Semifinals. Later that year, the Celtics re-signed him to a two-year, $6.5 million contract, which considerably added to his net worth.
