American television personality and lawyer Harvey Levin, was born on 2 September 1950 in Los Angeles, California, and is probably best known to the public for working on the TV show called “The People’s Court”, which has been nominated for several Daytime Emmy Awards, although yet to win one. Levin’s education began at Grover Cleveland High School in Reseda, Los Angeles from where he matriculated in 1968, and he then graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1972 with a BA in political science. He gained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Chicago Law School in 1975. From 1975 ‘til 1996, Levin worked as a lawyer in California in various aspects of law, including teaching at universities such as Whittier College in Orange County. His educational background in political science allowed him to work on several projects, where he had to use this kind of knowledge; for example Levin worked on KCBS-TV where he was a legal reporter, inevitably becoming involved with political law-makers as well as prominent court cases – the O. J. Simpson trial being one of them.
