Jalen Rose followed his estranged father, Jimmy Walker, who was a successful basketball player in the NBA. Jalen was one of the best high school basketball players who took part in a documentary “Hoop Dreams” (1994). Later, he continued his career playing in the team of University of Michigan. In 1994, Jalen was picked 13th overall in the first round of the NBA draft (1994) by the Denver Nuggets, for whom he played for two seasons (1994 – 1996) before being traded to the Indiana Pacers (1996 – 2002) team. Afterwards, he played for the Chicago Bulls (2002 – 2004), the Toronto Raptors (2004 – 2006), the New York Knicks (2006) and ended his professional career playing for the Phoenix Suns (2006 – 2007). He played in three positions during his entire career, starting in the position of a point guard, and later playing as a shooting guard and point forward.

He debuted as a courtside reporter during the playoffs in 2006, and later took the position of analyst at ESPN (2007 – present). Since 2012, Jalen has hosted “NBA Countdown”. In addition to this, the retired basketball player is the owner of management and production company “Three Tier Entertainment”. It was Rose, who produced the controversial documentary film “The Fab Five” (2011).

Furthermore, Jalen Rose has been chosen to serve as the Ambassador and Spokesperson for the National Basketball Retired Players Association, in which position he has served since August 2014.

Finally, Rose is known as a community activist and philanthropist. He has donated money to build reading centres and public schools.

Talking about his personal life, Jalen Rose graduated from the University of Maryland only in 2005, with a BSc in Management Studies. He is married to Alexandra Rose, and has fathered two daughters and has a step-son.
