James Taylor was born on 16 August 1953, in Laurens, South Carolina USA, and is an actor and singer, best known for being part of the R&B/funk band Kool & the Gang as their lead singer. He’s helped them release several successful albums, but all of his endeavors have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

The album’s success helped Taylor’s net worth, and releasing several top 10 singles – including “Too Hot” and “Ladies’ Night” – helped solidify his status as the frontman of the group. They would continue to release successful albums including “Celebration” in 1980, also certified platinum, and marked their first number one hit with “Celebration”. They continued to make hits that became popular internationally, including “Get Down on It” and “Joanna”. In 1984, they released the album “Emergency”, and it had four Top 20 hits including “Cherish”. Taylor’s net worth was rising!.

In 1988, James left Kool & the Gang on good terms, to try his hand at a solo career. The following year, he released his first solo album entitled “Master of the Game” which included several hits.

Three years later, he released his second solo album – “Feel The Need” – which had several hits, including “Heart to Heart” which is a duet with Stephanie Mills. In 1993, he released the album “Baby I’m Back”, and his latest album would come seven years later entitled “A Brand New Me”.

Prior to the release of his fourth solo album, Taylor briefly reunited with Kool & The Gang to release the album “State of Affairs”, which received positive reviews from critics. but it wasn’t as commercially successful as their initial projects. He also tried his hand at acting and appeared in the film “The Mambo Kings”, and became a part of the long-running Broadway production “Raisin”.
