The two stood in line for hours and already gave up because of the long line of kids who also want to audition for the role he was applying for too. Fortunately, before they decided to leave, one of the writers of the show saw him and his unique looks and decided to take him straight to the director.

His first movie not only welcomed him to the world of Hollywood, but also started his net worth.

After the success of “Lean on Me”, Hopkins then starred in a new movie entitled “Juice”. The movie once again made waves with its ensemble of cast with Tupac Shakur, Omar Epps, Samuel L. Jackson, Queen Latifah and Doctor Dre. The movie focuses on the lives of four youths and their day-to-day life in Harlem. Hopkins once again surprised the fans with his performance as Eric “Steel” Thurman.

In 1993, he became part of the film “Strapped” released through HBO and directed by actor Forest Whitaker.
