After graduating, he then decided not to pursue either, and would go on to train for professional wrestling at the Supreme Pro Wrestling School. He made his debut on the Raw brand in 2004, under the ring name “Johnny Blaze”, which he soon changed to “Johnny Nitro”, even using the “WCW Monday Nitro” theme as his entrance music. However, he had to return to OVW which he won the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship once. Eventually, he was called back to the SmackDown! Roster, and made his debut with wrestlers Melina and Joey Mercury, winning the WWE Tag Team Championship in their debut match. He stayed with the company until 2011, when he left to get more time to heal from an injury as well as to have more creative freedom.
He wrestled in the independent circuit, and in 2014 signed to El Rey’s new television series
“Lucha Underground” in which he wrestled as Johnny Mundo.
