Ephriam went to the Thomas Jefferson High School in South Central Los Angeles and later to the Whittier Law School, and received her Juris Doctor Degree in 1978 before beginning her law career in the Women’s Division of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, working as a corrections office.
In 1982, Mablean opened her law practice, mainly dealing with family and personal injury cases, and soon after, she became a Los Angeles Prosecuting Attorney.
In 1999, Ephriam was chosen to be a judge on the television show called “Divorce Court”, which follows the real-life divorce cases in dramatic re-enactments.
