Luke Campbell Donald, born on the 7th of December, 1977, is an English professional golfer who became famous for holding the number one spot in the world of golf for a record of 56 weeks and for being in the top 10 for 200 weeks.

He attended the Rudolf Steiner School in King Langley and also Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe, meantime learning to play golf at Hazlemere and Beaconsfield Golf Clubs, that later led him to winning his first club championship at 15.
Despite being an Englishman, Donald decided that he wanted to join College Prospects of America, and submitted applications to various American colleges. He was able to land a golf scholarship at Northwestern University in 1997 and played with the school while studying art theory and practice. During his college years, he made a name for himself in 1999 when he won the individual NCAA Division I Men’s Gold Championship title, and the following year he won the Chicago Open, making him the first amateur to do so.
After college, in 2001 Donald turned professional, and earned his first tour card in 2002, and entered the Sony Open in Hawaii where he finished in 13th place. He was able to enter his first Masters in 2005, and was able to finish third, which certainly helped boost his net worth.
One of the highlights of Donald’s career happened in 2011. During this year, he finished top of the PGA Tour money list, and also the European Race to Dubai. That same year he was also named the European Tour Golfer of the Year and the PGA Player of the Year. His various achievements not only helped his career but also tremendously raised his net worth.
In 2011, Donald became the number one golfer in the world after claiming victory in the BMW PGA Championship, and stayed in that position for 40 weeks, until he was beaten by Rory McIlroy. With his consistent performance in the world of golfing, in 2012 Donald was awarded the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his service in golf.

In terms of his personal life, Donald has been married to Diane Antonopoulos since 2007, whom he met while studying at Northwestern University. Together they have three children.
