She was also part of the film “The Goonies” as Irene Walsh. All of her endeavors helped put her net worth to where it was prior to her passing in 2015.

Trainor attended San Diego State University studying broadcast journalism. After graduating, she worked at radio stations KCBS and KSDO.

In 1983, she made her first television appearance in an episode of “Cheers”, a sitcom that focused on a bar named Cheers located in Boston. Thanks to this opportunity, she would then make her big screen debut in “Romancing the Stone” directed by Robert Zemeckis, which proved highly successful both critically and financially. This was the start of a long working relationship, and she also appeared in several films by Richard Donner, aside from which she appeared in the Steven Spielberg film “1941”. Other projects she was a part of include “Back to the Future” which starred Michael J. Fox, which become the highest grossing film of 1985. She was also part of the film “Forrest Gump” starring Tom Hanks and Sally Field, based on the novel of the same name. Mary also became part of “Congo” and “Anywhere But Here”, before in 1987 being cast in “Lethal Weapon” starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover, and would reprise her role in the next three “Lethal Weapon” films. She also appeared in “Back to the Future Part II”, and was a part of 1989’s “Ghostbusters II”. Thanks to these numerous opportunities, her net worth continuously increased.

While making films, she also had several television roles. She joined the cast of the teen sitcom “Parker Lewis Can’t Lose” from 1990 to 1991, and in 1996 she became part of “Relativity”, but which was short-lived. In 1999, she was cast in “Roswell” as the character Diane Evans; the science fiction show was based on the young adult book series entitled “Roswell High”.

For her personal life, it is known that Mary was married to Academy Award-winning director Robert Zemeckis for 20 years – they have a son, but divorced in 2000. Their son also appeared in several films such as “Contact” and “Rabbit Fever”. She was also good friends with producer Kathleen Kennedy. In 2015, Trainor passed away in Montecino, California, due to complications from pancreatic cancer.
