Max was born the eldest of the four brothers in the Kellerman family. He grew up in Greenwich Village, New York where he later went to Hunter College High School. He then graduated with a degree in history from Columbia College. His first experience in broadcasting was on a New York City television cable TV program about professional boxing called “Max on Boxing”, which caught the attention of the boxing community. Upon his college graduation, Max was hired as an analyst on ESPN’s “Friday Night Fights”. By 2002 he was hosting his own show and became the original host of “Around the Horn”.
