You might think – how rich is Megyn Kelly? It has been estimated that Kelly’s net worth is over $20 million, as of mid-2017, accumulated during a professional career spanning just 20 years, however, as Megyn is only 43 years old and is still successful in her career as a journalist, there is a high possibility that Megyn Kelly’s net worth will grow in the future.
Megyn Kelly Net Worth $20 Million
Megyn moved to Albany, New York State with her family, and was educated at Bethlehem Central High School, After matriculation, she graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in political science, she then joined Albany Law School. After obtaining her JD in 1995, , she became an associate in the Chicago law firm of Bickel & Brewer, later joining another law firm- Jones Day – where she worked for nine years. This is when Megyn Kelly’s net worth started to grow.
Megyn started her career as a journalist in Washington DC in 2003, when ABC News subsidiary WJLA-TV hired her, commentating on various news events from around the country. In 2004 Megyn became a part of Fox Entertainment Group where she worked as a general assignment reporter. In 2010 Megyn became the host of her own show, called “America Live”. What is more Megyn together with Bill Hemmer worked in the news program, “America’s Newsroom”. All her experiences as a host were successful and made her even more popular and added considerably to Megyn’s net worth.
When Kelly became pregnant she left America Live and had some free time. After coming back from maternity leave, she was the host of “The Kelly File”. While working as a journalist Megyn has had the opportunity to cover such stories as the 2013 government shutdown, the election of Pope Francis, the Boston Marathon bombing, EF5 tornado in Joplin, Missouri, the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill and the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown. Megyn’s skills in journalism made her not only famous, but also respected among others in the industry. Kelly’s appearances in television shows and in covering many important events are the main source of Megyn Kelly’s high net worth.
Most recently, in 2016 in a deal reputedly worth over $10 million, Megan has signed with HarperCollins to produce a book entitled “Settle for More”, adding substantially to her net worth, and which saw her appear on the cover of prominent magazine Vanity Fair.
In her personal life, Megan has married twice – firstly to anesthetist Daniel Kendall (2001-06), and then to writer Douglas Brunt, with whom she has three sons. Politically she is independent, as perhaps befits a commentator on political events.
