Michelle is of Hungarian and Irish-Catholic descent, but was adopted and raised by a Jewish family in New Jersey. She went to an arts high school and later attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Manhattan. At the age of sixteen, Visage won a Madonna look-alike competition, which may have helped her decide to move permanently to New York soon after graduation, in pursuit of an acting career. However, Michelle actually launched her career as a singer, when she auditioned for and won a place in the dance-pop/house group “Seduction”, becoming the third vocal member. The group produced several hits, including “Two to Make it Right”. When the group disbanded, Michelle collaborated with the freestyle dance act “TKA” on their song “Crash (Have Some Fun)”, and provided lead vocals to “The S.O.U.L.S.Y.S.T.E.M” on their song “It’s Gonna Be a Lovely Day”, a cover version of the Bill Withers’ song “Lovely Day”. The song was included on the soundtrack of “The Bodyguard” film and became a no.1 dance single that year, also peaking at no.34 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1993. These ventures all contributed to her net worth.
Three years later, Visage started her television career as the co-host of VH1’s talk show “The RuPaul Show”, and WKTU’s morning show for the next six years. In addition, she was featured on RuPaul’s Christmas album “Ho, Ho, Ho” in songs “With Bells On” and “Hard Candy Christmas”. In 1998 she hosted the red carpet coverage of the Grammys and four years later the 25th anniversary of “Grease” party. She also co-hosted “The Jamz Session” in Los Angeles from 2002-2005. Her net worth was rising steadily.
Michelle then decided to move to work as a co-host of “The Morning Mix” on WNEW-FM, for a year. Apart from this she has also worked on various other radio stations, including Sirius Satellite Radio, SUNNY 104.3 in West Palm Beach, Florida and 93.3 MIA in Miami.
In January 2011 she moved back to Los Angeles to debut as a permanent judge on the reality television series “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and its spin-off show “RuPaul’s All Stars Drag Race”. Her collaboration with RuPaul continued, and she was again featured on his albums “Born Naked”, “RuPaul Presents:CoverGurlz 2”, “Realness”, “Slay Belles” and “Butch Queen”.
When it comes to her more recent activity, Visage became one of the contestants on the British reality series “Celebrity Big Brother” in January 2015, and left the house in fifth place.
She published her first book, “The Diva Rules” in November the same year, the benefit of which to her net worth is still to be assessed.
When it comes to her private life, Michelle currently resides in California with her husband David Case and two daughters.
