Monte Halparin was born on 25 August 1921, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, of Jewish descent, and is a producer, singer, emcee, and sportscaster, probably best known for being the host of the game show “Let’s Make A Deal”. He’s hosted many other game shows too, and all of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

Monty was educated at St. John’s High School, and after matriculating attended the University of Manitoba. He would graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in chemistry and zoology.

He started his radio career in 1946, moving to Toronto for more opportunities. He hosted game shows such as “Bingo at Home” and “Strike it Rich” on CBS, then also hosted NBC’s “Twenty-One”. He continued doing a lot of hosting work, becoming part of the television show “Cowboy Theater” for WRCA. He also hosted “Fun in the Morning” from 1956 up to the early 1960s. During the same time, he co-hosted the Saturday night segment of the NBC program “Monitor”. His net worth was well established.

Aside from his numerous shows, he became a radio analyst for the National Hockey League (NHL) team, the New York Rangers for the 1959 to 1960 season. Afterwards, he became the host of the game show “Video Village”, succeeding Jack Narz. He would also host the spinoff “Video Village Junior” before becoming the host of “Let’s Make a Deal”; he was responsible for developing and producing the show which had syndicated runs throughout the 1970s and 1980s. He was also credited as the executive producer of the show, and initially appeared alongside Jay Stewart and Carol Merrill.

Aside from “Let’s Make a Deal”, Monty also hosted the game show “Split Second” during its return in 1987. Other game shows he helped produce include “Chain Letter, “Masquerade Party” and “It’s Anybody’s Guess”. He also filled in for other hosts during his time on NBC, mostly working as a guest. In 2009, Hall became a creative consultant for the revival of “Let’s Make a Deal” hosted by Wayne Brady. His net worth continued to rise.

Thanks to his efforts, Hall received a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star in 1973, and he was also inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame, and receiving a Golden Palm Star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars;hHe is one of three game show hosts to be part of both Hollywood and Canada’s Walk of Fame. In 1988, he was also given the prestigious Order of Canada thanks to his work all over the world, and in 2005, he received the Ralph Edwards Service Award in recognition for his work on game shows and charity.

For his personal life, it is known that Hall married distant cousin Marilyn Doreen Plottel in 1947. They became citizens of the United States two years later, and have three children. They currently reside in Beverly Hills, California.
