From her career since 1998, Mya has released 28 singles, seven studio albums, a compilation album, 27 music videos and 17 soundtracks. Her first two studio albums entitled “Mya” (1998) and “Fear of Flying” (2000) received platinum certifications in the USA, the third one entitled “Moodring” (2003) was certified gold. Mya is the winner of a Grammy for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals for the song “Lady Marmalade” in 2002, and was inducted into the Top 10 Grammy Award Performances with her rendition of the song at the 44th Grammy Awards ceremony. Billboard listed Mýa as one of their Hot 100 Artists of the 2000s, in 97th position in 2009. She also helps to raise funds for breast cancer research, among other philanthropic activities.

In her personal life, Mya is in a long term relationship with the professional sportsman DeSean Jackson.
