Rascal Flatts is a Country Rock band founded in Columbus, Ohio USA in 1999. Since the beginning, three members form the band – Gary LeVox (leading vocalist), Jay DeMarcus (bass, piano, vocals, drums) and Joe Don Rooney (guitar main, electric bass, mandolin, vocals). The band has been active under the labels Lyric Street and Big Machine.

The longest duration in the top position was held by the song “Bless the Broken Road” (in late 2004 and early 2005) for five weeks. The band’s biggest-selling single is “What Hurts the Most”, which topped the Billboard country and adult contemporary charts in 2006, and was a hit on the Billboard Top 10. Rascal Flatts also participated in the soundtrack of “Hannah Montana: The Movie”, with the song “Backwards” acoustics version.
