Nick Massi Net Worth $5 Million Dollars

Growing up in Newark, New Jersey, Massi had always been a lover of music. Even in his teen years he was already playing with several groups, until he came across the band the Four Lovers. Massi along with Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Frankie Valli officially formed the band and played in various clubs and lounges in New Jersey, but had a hard time scoring an album deal.

In 1959, the group started working with Bob Crewe, a producer and songwriter, to serve as session musicians, but soon afterwards the band began getting opportunities playing to larger crowds. Finally in 1961, Crewe decided to sign the boys under his production company Gone Records under the new name The Four Seasons. The band’s first single “Bermuda” was not a hit, but they still continued working with Crewe to create new songs. The band later wrote and recorded the song “Sherry”, and this became a runaway success in several English-speaking countries.

After this first hit, the band went on to produce several more hit singles, including “Rag Doll”, “Bye Bye Baby”, “Walk Like A Man”, “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and “Candy Girl” to name a few. The Four Seasons became one of the most famous rock and pop groups, and album sales individually helped each of the members’ net worth. Massi’s deep voice and natural talent as a bass guitarist also helped considerably in the group’s popularity.

Although the group witnessed the “British Invasion”, having British groups like the Rolling Stones and the Beatles virtually take over the music scene in the US, The Four Seasons still maintained their presence in various charts.

In 1965, after five years with the group Massi left due to the stress brought on by touring with the group. Even though he wasn’t in the group anymore, he retained his friendship with the members of the band. He also retained his net worth, and passion for music by working as a vocal coach, and even managed several groups like The Victorians, The Baby Toys and The Carmel.

In 1990, the Four Seasons were inducted into the Rock’n’ Roll Hall of Fame in New York City, one of the highest honours any band could receive.

In terms of his personal life, Massi died in December of 2000 at the age of 73 years old due to cancer. He was survived by his wife Margie and their three children. The couple resided in West Orange, New Jersey when he passed away. The group The Four Seasons was also honoured in the documentary musical “The Jersey Boys”, which debuted in 2006 – unfortunately, Massi was not able to see the project.
