Pam attended North Farmington High School and after matriculating, attended Oakland Community College with the intention of transferring to a college with a four-year course. However, while studying there, she found an opportunity to model and soon dropped out of school to pursue that career full time.
Dawber worked with Wilhelmina Models and moved to New York City for the job. After a while, she decided to switch to acting, and started appearing in various commercials for products including Underrals and Nair. She then became a co-star of the sitcom “Mork & Mindy”, which helped her rise to prominence. The series ran from 1978 to 1982 and featured Dawber as an eventual love interest for the extra-terrestrial Mork, played by Robin Williams. After the series’ run, she was also seen as part of the production of “The Pirates of Penzance”, in which she showcased her singing skills.
