Patsy Kensit is a younger child of James Henry Kensit, a gangster associate, and Margaret Rose Doohan, a publicist. She has an older brother named James, and is of Irish descent on her mother’s side. Having been in the entertainment business from an early age, Kensit pursued formal education in acting, first at the Italia Conti Academy stage school, and then at the Corona Theatre School.
