Scott Gomez Net Worth $50 Million

Scott Gomez spent his childhood in his hometown, where he was raised with two sisters by his mother, Dalia Gomez, who was a housewife, and his father, Carlos Gomez, who was a construction worker. He began playing ice hockey when he was only five years old, and while he was in high school, he distinguished himself as a player and won an Alaska High School Hockey Player of the Year award. Upon matriculation, instead of enrolling at college on a scholarship, he joined the South Surrey Eagles, a junior team from British Columbia, after which he began to play in the Western Hockey League (WHL) for the Tri-City Americans.

In no time, Scott’s professional playing career began, when he was selected in the 1998 NHL Draft as the 27th overall pick in the first round by the New Jersey Devils, so he signed a rookie contract, which marked an increase in his net worth. In his first season, Scott had 70 points and 51 assists, and as the league’s top rookie he won the Calder Memorial Trophy, and was a part of the team which played in the NHL All-Star Game in Toronto. During his next season, he scored 63 points; however, in the 2001-2002 season, his numbers dropped due to an injury. However, in the 2003-2004 season he recorded 70 points and tied for the NHL lead in assists. He stayed with the team until the playoffs in 2007, and finished his last season there with 60 points.

In 2007, Scott signed a contract with the New York Rangers worth $51.5 million over the next seven years, and in the same season with the team, he recorded his 500th career point in the game against the Devils. In the 2008-2009 season, he led the team to win the Victoria Cup, and thanks to his skills, Scott was named an alternate captain of the Rangers, which added a considerable amount to his net worth.

However, at the end of the season, Scott was traded to the Montreal Canadians, appearing with the team in 60 games in the 2011-2012 season. After that period, he returned to the Alaska Aces in the ECHL, scoring 13 points in 11 games, but in 2013 he became a free agent. He very soon signed a one-year contract worth $700,000 with the San Jose Sharks, appearing in 39 games and having two goals and 13 assists, which increased his net worth again.

The next season he began as a member of the Florida Panthers. To speak further about his career, in the 2014-2015 season, Scott returned to the New Jersey Devils and made his 1000th appearance in the NHL, and during the next season, he signed with the Ottawa Senators, but subsequently decided to retire.

Additionally, in May 2017 Scott began work as an assistant coach with the NHL’s team – the New York Islanders. His net worth is certainly still rising.

Speaking about Scott Gomez’s personal life, there is no information about it in the media, in which a standing joke is that the only affair he’s had is with his hockey stick..
