Easton grew up in Scotland along with her five siblings. She attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music in Glasgow, and performed at local clubs with the band Something Else. In 1979 she appeared in the BBC reality television series “The Big Time”, focusing on amateurs trying to become pop-music stars, which subsequently enabled her to sign a record deal with EMI Records. Her debut singles “Modern Girl” and “9 to 5” became instant hits, making Easton the first female artist since the 50s to have two Top 10 hits at the same time in Britain. Her songs were released in the USA, with the single “9 to 5” being retitled “Morning Train”, and achieving great success, and considerably benefiting her net worth.

In 1981 Sheena released another hit, the James Bond movie theme ”For Your Eyes Only”, which became a top 10 hit in both the USA and UK, and the song brought Easton a Grammy Award for Best New Artist of 1981; she became famous worldwide and her net worth boosted.

The following year she undertook her first US tour, and also went on to release several albums during the 80s, containing the hits “You Could Have Been With Me”, “Wind Beneath My Wings”, a duet with Kenny Rogers “We’ve Got Tonight”, “Telefone (Long Distance Love Affair)” and “Almost Over You”. Her 1984 duet with Luis Miguel in the Spanish language – “Me Gustas Tal Como Eres” – earned her a Grammy Award for Best Mexican-American Performance. The same year her album “A Private Heaven” became the biggest-selling US album of her career, being certified gold and then platinum, containing the hit songs “Strut” and “Sugar Walls”, the latter being written and produced by Prince. Easton became the only artist to have top five hits on Billboard’s five major charts – pop, r&b, country, adult contemporary and dance. All added to her wealth.

Easton’s collaboration with Prince continued through her several following albums, and she also appeared in his concert film “Sign o’ the Times”, duetting with the artist on “U Got the Look”, while also writing a number of songs with him.

Easton later signed with MCA Records and released her next gold album, “The Lover in Me” with the title song becoming her greatest hit since “Morning Train”. Three more albums followed, “What Comes Naturally”, “No Strings” and “My Cherie”, which were her last albums to be released in the US, as her next two albums “Freedom” and “Home” were released only in Japan.

In 2000 Easton signed with Universal International UK and released “Fabulous”, which was her last and probably least successful album. She has since contributed to soundtracks and theme songs for several movies and performed in various casinos’ entertainment venues. She has recently appeared in symphony concerts called “The Spy Who Loved Me”.

Aside from her music career, Easton has also been involved in stage and screen acting. During the late ’80s and the ’90s, she appeared as a singer Caitlin Davies in the series “Miami Vice”, and starred in the Broadway revivals of “Man of La Mancha” as Aldonza and in “Grease” as Rizzo. She appeared as a recording star Melissa McCammon in an episode of the Canadian television series “The Outer Limits”, and played several characters in the animated series “Gargoyles”. Easton has also done a number of voice-over roles and has made several cameo appearances in various shows; all added to her net worth.

In her private life, Easton was married four times. Her fist marriage was while she still lived in Scotland, to Sandi Easton. The couple divorced after only eight months. In 1984 she married talent agent Rob Light, but divorced him 18 months later. In 1997 she married producer Tim Delarm, and divorced him the following year. Her last marriage was to a plastic surgeon John Minoli, and that also lasted a year.

In 1992 Easton became a USA citizen. She currently lives in Henderson, Nevada with her two adopted children. Sources believe she is single at present.
