Born Stephen Douglas McMichael on the 17th October 1957 in Houston, Texas USA, Steve is a retired sportsman who played American Football as a defensive tackle from 1980 to 1994 for the New England Patriots (1980), Chicago Bears (1981-1993), and Green Bay Packers (1994), after which he started his professional wrestling career, first in the WWF, and then in WCW. He also wrestled in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

In 1989 he declared for the NFL Draft, and was selected by the New England Patriots as the 73rd pick overall. However, he spent only one season as a Patriot, and was then acquired by the Chicago Bears. Steve stayed with the Bears until 1993, helping them win the Super Bowl in 1985, and in the two following seasons, he earned Pro Bowl selections. The period certainly boosted his net worth considerably.

After the Bears, Steve signed a contract with the Green Bay Packers, but after only one season with the Packers, he retired from professional football.

Following his retirement, he became a part of the Word Wrestling Federation, first appearing at ringside for Lawrence Taylor at WrestleMania XI, for Taylor’s match against Bam Bam Bigelow. Soon he started his own wrestling career, and clashed with several other wrestlers, including Rick Flair, Kama Mustafa, Joe Gomez, then Jeff Jarrett, and many others all part of the wrestling show, of course.. Steve became WCW United States Heavyweight Champion in 1997, when he defeated Jeff Jarrett. Two years later he left WCW, but then returned to wrestling a decade later, joining Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling in 2008, but soon afterwards retired from wrestling for good.

After he left wrestling for the first time he became the co-host of the Chicago Bears pre-game show on ESPN 1000 in Chicago, alongside Jeff Dickerson, which has also increased his wealth.

In 2012, McMichael ran for mayor of Romeoville, Illinois, but lost to John Noak, the ncumbent, while gaining just 39 percent of the vote.

Regarding his personal life, Steve has been married to Misty since 2001. The couple has a daughter, born in 2008. Previously, he was married to Debra Marshall from 1985 until 1998.
