Takeo Spikes grew up in Georgia, and went to the Washington County High School in Sandersville, where he played football, and in his senior year was named Georgia Player of the Year. The Cincinnati Bengals selected Spikes as the 13th pick in the 1998 NFL Draft, and he started all pre-season and regular season games in his rookie year.
