Tim Curry Net Worth, Biography, Wiki 2017-2016

Timothy James Curry, born on the 19 of April, 1946, is a British actor and singer, made famous for his villainous roles, but most recognized for playing the part of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the film “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”.
So how much is Curry’s net worth? As of early 2016 it is reported to be $14 million, gained mostly from his long career as an actor both on the stage, in movies and on television.

Curry, born in Grappenhall, Chesire in England, is the son of James and Patricia. During his childhood years, after his father’s death the family moved to South London, but he gained a scholarship at Kingswood School, a boarding school in Bath, Somerset where his interest in acting and singing started. Later he attended Birmingham University, and graduated with a degree in Drama and English.

Tim Curry Net Worth $14 Million

After his university years, Curry immediately started acting in various theatre productions. His first project was the West End production of “Hair” in 1968, in which he played the character of Woof. Soon after, he joined the Royal Shakespeare Company and starred in “After Haggerty” in 1970. His minor roles in theatre and television started building his name and net worth, but his breakthrough came when he was included in the cast of the stage production of “The Rocky Horror Show.”

In 1973, a friend of Curry whom he met in “Hair” asked him to audition for the role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter. Curry eventually got the role even though another actor was already considered for the part. His performance as the transvestite and overly sexual scientist was a hit among fans and critics, and the show immediately became a runaway hit. Eventually the whole crew flew to Los Angeles, California and once again blew away the audiences. The stage production later became a movie, with Curry reprising his role in “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”. The show gained a cult following, propelling his career to new heights and also contributing in his wealth.

After the success of “Rocky Horror”, Curry also released solo albums including “Read My Lips”, “Fearless” and “Simplicity. He continued acting on stage, and starred in several well-known theatre productions, including his award-winning performance in “Travesties” (1975-1976), “Amadeus” (1981) and “The Pirates of Penzance (1982) to name a few, all of which contributed to his popularity and net worth.

Curry eventually ventured into movies and television, playing mostly villains such as in the miniseries “It”, “The Three Musketeers” and “Muppet Treasure Island”. With his deep tone, he also lent his voice to several characters in projects like “Peter Pan and Pirates”, “Sonic the Hedgehog” and “The Rugrats Movie”. All of his other endeavours have helped make him well-known in the world of Hollywood, bring him many nominations and awards, and increased his net worth.

In terms of his personal life, Curry is single. In 2012, he suffered a stroke which affected his mobility and speech, but reports say that he is recovering and will come back in 2016 for the FOX production of “Rocky Horror Picture Show”.

Looks like we don't have Tim Curry salary information. Sorry!

#Fact
1Is a fan of Australian drama series Prisoner: Cell Block H, with Joan Ferguson as his favorite character.
2After securing Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern for Home Alone (1990), Chris Columbus felt confident enough to cast actors who were his heroes growing up like Catherine O'Hara after seeing her work on SCTV (1976), as well as John Heard and then Curry and Rob Schneider on Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) because they were all open to the films.
3For many years, he did not publicly acknowledge his role as Pennywise the Dancing Clown in the 1990 made-for-TV movie It (1990), based on the novel by Stephen King, until a 2015 interview with Moviefone in which he called the role "a wonderful part".
4Was considered for the role of Scar in The Lion King (1994).
5Has English, Irish and Scottish ancestry.
6Was considered for the role of Jafar in Aladdin (1992).
7Made a rare public appearance on the red carpet at the 19th annual Actors Fund Tony Awards Viewing Party in Los Angeles to receive the organization's lifetime achievement award.
8Attended the prestigious Kingswood School in Bath, Somerset, England from the age of 12 to 18, the school initially being founded for the children of Methodist ministers.
9Has played characters who could remove their heads scientifically (Dr. Pretorious on the animated series The Mask (1995)) and magically (as Caliph Kapok on the animated series Aladdin (1994)).
10He has two roles in common with Charlton Heston: (1) Heston played Cardinal Richelieu in The Three Musketeers (1973) and The Four Musketeers: Milady's Revenge (1974) while Curry played him in The Three Musketeers (1993) and (2) Heston played Long John Silver in Treasure Island (1990) while Curry played him in Muppet Treasure Island (1996).
11His agent is Marcia Hurwitz.
12Had a dog named Frank.
13One of his favorite movies is the horror film Don't Look Now (1973).
14Suffered a major stroke in June 2012.
15Has voiced two royal cats: voicing "Prince" in Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties (2006) and "The Cat King" in Neko no ongaeshi (2002).
16Was on the 1980 album "Sandinista!" by the English punk rock group The Clash. On track 18, "The Sound of the Sinners", he spoke as a priest, mid-song.

Also recorded three albums for A&M Records: "Ready My Lips" (1978), "Fearless" (1979) and "Simplicity" (1981). Though only one charting song, "I Do the Rock", both it at "Paradise Garage" [from "Fearless"] have become cult hits, having two music videos made for MTV which were often played before showings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). His best album is often praised "Fearless", and his best songs are "Birds of a Feather", "Alan", "Sloe Gin", "I Do the Rock", "S.O.S.", "Cold Blue Steel and Sweet Fire", "Paradise Garage", "No Love on the Street", "Something Short of Paradise", "Working on My Tan", "Simplicity", "On a Roll", "Take Me I'm Yours", "Out of Pawn" and "I Put a Spell on You".

1Maintaining my sense of humor through rehabilitation was absolutely vital but not tough. It's just part of my DNA.
2[on how The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) has left an impact] I think one of the things it has done to audiences, particularly early in the game, and actually still now, is that it's been very kind of liberating sexually for them, and I guess it was very liberating for me too because it was a huge step to make. And certainly my agents were worried that it would kind of ruin my career and, of course, it hasn't. For me it was, I think, the most joyous time of my life. You know, I was still very young, it took me to Hollywood and to Broadway and into a kind of very peculiar immortality, and I'm very grateful for that.
3[on The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)] It is parody but I play it and think of it as a kind of grisly reality. Frank-N-Furter, as a variation on Frankenstein, is obsessed with image and the way that things look, but I see him and play him as a grisly, real freak.
4[on his character Dr. Frank-N-Furter] The thing about playing somebody like that is it wakes you up to all these possibilities. I mean the one thing I've been very concerned about is to not limit myself either, whether it's artistically, physically, sexually or mentally. He's been a great lesson to me, put it that way.
5I want to establish a wide range and play all kinds of parts. It's that sort of acting career I really respect. I like to turn a sharp left from whatever I've done before because that keeps me awake. That's why I want to be an actor -- I don't want to play endless variations on one character.
6[to a crowd at a Rocky Horror Picture Show convention] It's so comforting to know that there are so many people in this world sicker than I am.
7["The Making of Gabriel Knight"] Gabriel Knight is VERY, very cool. And impossibly handsome. So of course, they picked me.
8["The Making of Gabriel Knight", on rapidly evolving computer technology] Any new way to infiltrate myself into your minds.
9[with reference to climbing volcanos while filming Congo (1995)] I smoke two packs of Marlboros a day, which doesn't go well with volcanos.
10My specialty roles are Louche, Brio and Bravura.
11They couldn't call it ["The Best of Tim Curry" CD] "Greatest Hits" because there weren't any.
12I'm not a conventional leading man at all and have no wish to be.
