Urban Meyer was born in Toledo, and raised in Ashtabula, where he attended Saint John High School, then became a student of psychology at the University of Cincinnati, graduating with a BA in psychology in 1986. During his studies, Meyer started playing football, proving very talented, but was also selected by the Atlanta Braves to play in the 1982 Major League Baseball Draft. As a student, Meyer became a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Soon after, he continued his studies at the Ohio State University in Sports Administration.
