Faber was raised in Lincoln, California, was educated at Lincoln High School, and then graduated with a degree in Human Development from the University of California at Davis. He found himself inclined towards martial arts while he was in his twenties, but before starting his career in the field of martial arts in 2003, he was already a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Given his enthusiasm and passion for martial arts, Faber decided on making a career in his favourite sport which certainly helped him raise his wealth to millions of dollars.

He started his professional career with a win in the Gladiator Challenge in 2003, taking this win to a higher level as he began playing in King of the Cage (KOTC), his debut in which earned him the title of King of the Cage Bantamweight Championship. His winning spree in mixed martial arts in the bantamweight division made him a pioneering personality in promoting lighter weight championships. Eventually, Faber fought in “World Extreme Cage-fighting”. The skills and techniques that he took with him from the starting point of his career helped him strike a win in the WEC Featherweight Championship in 2006. After he won this reputable title, he held on to it for the next two years defeating major mixed martial artists like Joe Pearson, Dominique Crux and others. Noted for his “guillotine choke”, Faber became a popular face in the sport, finding fame as a bantamweight and featherweight champion in the sport of his passion. These title wins have not just helped Faber to become a celebrity; they have also helped his net worth to rise.

After more than two years of title wins, he lost it to Mike Brown in 2008. Following his defeat, Faber decided to play bantamweight. In 2013, Faber was awarded “2013 Submission of the Year” for his impeccable fighting techniques.

Apart from fighting, Faber’s first book “The Laws of the Ring” was published in 2012. He is also noted for being the founder of the gym “Team Alpha Male” which won Combat Press award for “Gym of the Year” in 2014.

As for his personal life, he is an active philanthropist who carries out his charity works under his co-founded organization, Grace Project. As of now, he is enjoying a net worth of $8 million and has been continuing with his career in mixed martial arts. Otherwise, Urijah keeps his personal life very private.
